Hardly anything grounds and unifies a space like a rug can. They not only offer warmth and comfort, but they may also serve as floor art, bringing color, pattern, and life into your room. When designing a space, we like working with our clients to identify the ideal rug that complements their individual style and way of life. In addition to choosing the style, positioning is crucial.
Here are some ways to make sure your rug placement is perfect. But before we jump to the placement part let us first look over the importance of choosing the right rug material. And how can you choose the perfect rug material for your interior?
Rug Material is equally significant to the size. Several of the most popular materials on the market today are contrasted here to show how they differ from one another.
Resilient wool fabrics are warm and cozy and are a fantastic option for high-traffic areas or spaces that are frequently used by kids.
Cotton rugs can work well in rooms where rugs are changed frequently, such as in the bathroom or the den, because they are typically inexpensive.
Synthetic rugs are typically made to be long-lasting, stain-resistant, colorfast, and generally affordable, the appearance of each space can be altered more frequently.
Apart from rug material, there are many other factors that affect the purchase of a perfect carpet for your interior. But after purchasing the carpet it is important to make sure that the rug placement is perfect. So here is how can you make sure that the rug placement is perfect.
The rug should cover all furniture, including the front and back legs, in a large room with a floating lounge area, leaving space all around.
Make sure that the front legs of all the furnishings are at least on the rug if your sofa is against a wall.
Avoid a rug that only fits under the coffee table and is too small. When you sit on the table, your feet should always be on the rug.
Select a rug that can accommodate your table and chairs with ample space, even when they are removed from the table. It needs at least 24 inches of extra space on all sides.
For a round table, the same guidelines apply. Regardless of its shape—circular or rectangular—the rug should extend far beyond the dining chairs.
Prevent using a rug that is too tiny to adequately cover the table and chairs.
You run the danger of having guests trip over a round rug as they draw out their seats.
Select a rug that is big enough to fit the bed in a room with lots of space, plus extra space for working on either side of the bed and at the end. All furniture should be over the rug, ideally.
Two tiny rugs on either side of the bed are an additional clever solution. If you don't have a nightstand on one side of your bed and instead have a dresser or desk, this works especially well.
A runner for the side of the bed is a great option for a bedroom with a bed in the corner or two twin beds.
Don't place a smaller rug at the foot of the bed in the center. It's incredibly disproportionate and has a postage stamp-like appearance. When getting out of bed, you want comfort beneath your feet.
While finding the perfect rug to match the décor of your home may take some time, with more knowledge about its placement, materials, and styles, you'll be well on your way. Each room's look should be completed gradually.
